9 days unwanted rest

i just need to run. after the short trip to malta and gaining few kilos, i felt that running was the best way to get back in shape. 9 days went by without a single kilometer of running! there were million ways to avoid running (especially the blame-it-on-the-weather theory) and so on. i told myself that i would run in malta but the weather was so nice that i ended up having cakes & coffee at the café!

so today's run was actually a lsd that i wanted to compensate for the run that i missed on sunday. by the way, i need mileage too to stock up. marathon is around the corner and halfmarathon is on this coming sunday. the weighing machine that i saw this morning wasn't that friendly either - too much - an after-effect from the short holiday.

so i ran my usual route and try as much as i could to run slowly. my feet hurt and i didn't know why. i had to stop a couple of times and did some feet exercises. maybe the legs couldn't hold up the weight from the middle part of the body!

as i reached the traffic light just before the alster, i was happy that it turned red for the vehicles. but then, the green man was nowhere to be seen! the damn lady at the traffic light took it for granted and didn't press the button. hmm... i had to wait a couple of minutes before i could continue to run.

even though my plan today was to run 3 rounds around the alster, i had decided to cut it short at the last moment cos i had to be back and prepared for our weekly tv evening with friends at home. ran anti-clockwise direction for the first round and turned around for the next round. for the third round, i decided to run just a short distance before turning back to run towards home. all the way, i felt that my left foot wasn't working properly. was it just because that i've been too lazy to run before, during and after the trip or was it just the damn shoes? i don't know. anyway, was really happy when i finally reached home cos i was totally exhausted.
