running in stanford

DIENSTAG, 31 OKTOBER 2007

17° celsius. dry. 17:26 (1:00:52)

i had nothing to do and went to stanford university to do some running on the tracks. i could see a group of people were there doing some sort of meeting prior to whatever charity run. on the track, another big group was getting ready to do some training.

so i ran. started on the 8th lane, the outermost lane and ran 3 times in the lane before i moved to next lane (lane 7) and so on. i was on the 6th lane when the big group on the track started their interval 400m training in lane 4. therefore i had to do my 4th lane in the 5th lane track. this went on and it wasn't that boring either cos there were other runners running clockwise whereas the mass was on the opposite direction. the charity runners began their exercises on the field and the whole track wasn't that dead as any other tracks. i did a 400m "sprint" in between my run (i think it was after 5 km) and continued later with my jog. i finally did a "fast" run on my penultimate lap and jogged slowly at the end.

this was the first time that i managed to run further than 2 km on a running track. usually i hate to do it if i had to run more than 3 runs. this time the atmosphere really made the different.
