my heels hurt
6° celsius. dry, then drizzling and slightly windy. 17:22 (0:54:45 hrs)
was quite reluctant to run today cos i wanted to watch the semifinal match between germany and france in the handball worldcup 2007 which would be live telecast in tv. but then, i must run somehow. my weight is pushing higher to its new limit! maybe i ate too much (thanks burger king, kfc and all the unhealthy food). thought i could compensate the eating with running, that means, the more i run, the more i can eat. but it was just the eating without the running :-).
anyway, started to run and wanted somehow to finish this run by 18:15. i have to rush! so i started running quicker at the start than i usually do. it turned out to be a big mistake. it was all okay all the way to alster as i stopped at the traffic to cross the road. there were also 3 other runners there, waiting. in the meantime i tried to do some stretching while waiting for the traffic light to turn green. once on the other side of the road, we split to two groups, me and another guy running anticlockwise direction around the alster. this guy was "running away" from me as i tried to follow him on the way to alster earlier on. so i started to put a little tempo and was running quite fast, leaving him behind.
i was under time constraint. i sped up. about 1.5 km later i slowed down and ran easily for the next km. then i felt an unusual pain around my both heels. ohh shit... please nothing serious i hope. i slowed down to a walk and stopped to stretch. it must be the "blasting" start that i did (without warming up) and the old shoes that i was wearing. i wasn't so sure. i continued to slow jog and stopped more than once. in the meantime, the guy from the traffic light had overtaken me while i continued my super slow jog for about 1 km. the pain subsided a little bit and i began to increase slowly my speed. hey, it was already 18:00. it started to drizzle already. somewhere along the way, i overtook the "traffic light" guy and zoomed past him. gee, i was happy to catch up with him again.
i almost sprinted all the way for the last 500 m cos i wanted to reach the school sporthall as soon as possible. and i did it. the pain was gone and i played 3 hours of badminton after that. phew, it was a hard day with all the running and then badminton!
