reunion
7° celsius. sunny with few clouds. 10:08 (2:01:50)
today was the first time that i ran with my running mates. as i reached at our meeting point, i saw many new faces, including one from 2001/2002. an ex-working colleague during my internship semester. it was a preparation run for the coming marathon in april.
today's plan was to do a 2 hours run. the group was divided into 2 : a 5:30 min/km and a 6:30 min/km group. i've decided to run with the slower group. i would rather run slow than to run fast at my "condition".
we ran at least 3 km before reaching the river alster. i found that the tempo was really, really slow at the beginning. almost a 7:30 min/km. erghh.... why am i here then? nevermind, at least i could talk a lot with my ex-colleague. i was quite disappointed as i looked at the watch at the turning point - a miserable distance for the first hour!
on the way back, someone from the first group joined our group cos he said he couldn't keep up with the rest of the "faster" runners. his ambition was to do 3:30 hrs for the marathon, a tall order for him (i thought). there were a few other groups of runners passed by as the offer from various running clubs for the marathon preparation booms.
well, my motto for today was : starting slow should be the case but starting too slow was annoying.
alsteration (week 5) : 43.024 km
