it was soooo cold
-4° celsius. dry. 16:44 (0:35:49)
i don't know what the hell happening to me but i really wanted to run in this weather. such a nice weather. so cold but yet so fresh. all i want was to get away from this festive madness season. i had enough of weihnachtsfeier (christmas celebration) with friends, colleagues, sportfriends, running groups and so on. i just wanted to be free and do some exercises.
i was totally wrapped up in my running stuffs, that means, headgear, double body tights longsleeve t-shirts, running tops, running jacket, running tights, running pant, double socks, double gloves, things to cover my face. am i running in the arctic? anyway, it was totally nonsense what i did, cos firstly i wore to much top (the running tops wasn't necessary) and couldn't move "fluidly" as i wanted to be. nevertheless, it was such a nice experience. although the breathing was a little bit difficult (due to cold air), i covered half my face with some sort of handkerchief so that i could breathe through them.
lucky for me the wind was almost non-existable. the "feel" temperature could drop down tremendously if strong icy wind was to blow into your face. anyway, this temperature was nothing compared to the one in russian's polar circle. saw on tv that a truck driver transporting foods/packages to the people in the polar circle went out of his truck in his t-shirt and told the reporter that it was mild. yes, mild at -15° celsius. he is used to the extreme weather of -40° celsius there. hmmm... anyone wants to run the arctic marathon?
it was quite okay during the run cos i didn't feel much different from any other runs during winter. it was just my hands and ears that were feeling the slight pain of coldness. the tough part was after the run and while doing some stretching down, i could feel the coldness right into my bones. lucky for me, i didn't have to run back home but straightaway jumped into the warm car after the stretching :-).
